With so many apps and so many niches carved out, it can feel overwhelming to figure out which one to use. Modern dating apps have gotten worse and apps positioning themselves to a subset of users is the latest trend in the dating app world.

What Is Raya?
Raya is a dating app that claims to be exclusive and cater to those who want some curation or filtering of profiles that are seen on other dating apps.
It’s been marketed as an elite dating app for high profile individuals.

How Does Raya Work?
Basically, you have to create a profile and submit your application to the app. It is reviewed and either accepted or on the waitlist.
Back in 2018, NYT stated that Raya had about an 8% acceptance rate.
Given that most dating apps have about a 2:1 to 4:1 gender ratio of men to women, you can expect that much more women (on average, as a percentage) get accepted on Raya vs men.
You create a profile with photos, match and send messages to said matches.

How To Get On Raya? How To Apply To Raya
You have to apply to get on to Raya or you have to be invited by someone currently on the app. Even then, it’s not guaranteed or likely to get you access to the app, it just accelerates the review process.
You can start by downloading the app and then filling out the application but it’s recommended to get a referral even if it boosts your chances by very little.
Do this all at once, don’t apply and then seek out referrals. No one likes it when people piece-feed info, applications etc.

Can You Apply To Raya Without A Referral? Raya Dating App Invite
Unlike other articles that state you can’t apply to Raya directly, you actually can apply without an invite or a referral. Chances are somewhat less possibly, but they are not zero.

Raya Waitlist, Rejection, Appeal
Raya for the most part either accepts applicants or leaves them in a waitlist queue.
Sometimes that queue is indefinite, sometimes it’s for a short period of time.
The hope is that you pay to get your application reviewed sooner than later. Don’t do this, at least without knowing how to optimize your profile, application.

Who Gets Accepted On Raya? Types Of People On Raya
Most types of people on Raya are:
Influencers
People who pay for followers on social media
Occasional celebrities (usually the type that are canceled, in rehab etc)
Aspiring B/C-list actors/actresses
Internet models
Underwear models (not the type you are thinking, think granny panties)
People with poor judgment and are always single, getting cheated

Can Anyone Join Raya? Raya Membership Requirements
In theory yes, but the acceptance right is slim. You really have to work on yourself, your first impressions, appearance, looks, social media, credentials etc. Being attractive, rich and/or famous helps. Heck, going viral may help too.

Do You Have To Pay For Raya? Is Raya Free?
Raya is not free, you need to pay a membership cost. That said, you don’t need to pay for premium if you know what you are doing. Unlike other popular dating apps, Raya has no trial nor freemium business model.

How To Delete Your Raya Application: Can You Re-Apply To Raya?
Contact Raya to withdraw your application: contact@rayatheapp.com or use the contact button on their website.
You can re-apply down the road and it’s possible you can accelerate acceptance if you do this but only if you have improved your chances i.e. more followers, more famous, more attractive, more referrals etc.
Can You Screenshot On Raya? Raya Screenshot Policy
Raya is very concerned over privacy on it’s platform and gives warnings for users who do screenshot. In this post, this person received two warnings for screenshotting profiles on Raya. That said, people can get away with capturing profiles by using other devices to take a photo.
The basic guidelines of dating apps suggests not putting anything on a profile you wouldn’t want your parents, family, friends, colleagues to see.
Raya Profile Examples Men, Women
Profiles consist of photo set to a carousel setup with music played in the background (based on song choice by user). The bio for Raya is optional and most people have low effort bios as they believe all people care about is photos or enough info out there publicly for research.
